Weave your fingers with mine

About this piece
The poem tells of following someone with blind faith, not knowing where you're going only trusting that that person won't lead you astray & then later coming to the realisation that they only car about themselves & you stop following them & go your own way & they now follow you.
One step in front of the other.. One foot forward and then one back, that's how you move forward but never go anywhere,
I follow your foot steps, the imprints you left, I follow them now even when you don't look back.
I once stopped, to see if you would notice that your shadow no longer walked with you, no longer held your hand, no longer pulled at your ankles..
I was weaved my fingers with yours, cause I didn't want to thread through the fabric alone, lost at the hemline, where a tear was formed.
I was weaved my heart with yours and some else's too, though I know longer hear their heart beat, only yours a constant friend. I weaved my life with yours, so we could keep each other warm, but you wanted your quilt to brave the cold storms.
So I'll go on alone, braving this blizzard one stitch at a time, until I see that patchwork pattern over the nigh..
I once weaved my fingers with yours.... Now you weave your fingers with mine.
