About this piece
A short poem turning over what a thread can be: what ties our bonds, what connects us to our fates, unbreakable yet easily severed once weakened, able to stitch broken hearts and minds together, visible to some and not to others — and finally one thin fabric woven with many others into a quilted canvas that tells a story.
A thread
That is what ties our bonds together
A thread
That what connects us to our fates
A thread
A strong and solid unbreakable tie
A thread
Yet can be severed so easily when weakened
A thread
Can stitch the broken hearts and minds together
A thread
Can be visible to some, while others cannot
A thread
A single thin fabric that is weaved with many others into a huge, quilted canvas, telling a beautiful visual story.
