Embers

About this piece
From a little rock, which resilient limestone has stood up to explosives & sheltered those seeking refuge, these are my verses inspired by the fortitude of Knights and civilians. In a bleak world where hope for peace is dim, we need to be there for each other to reignite it.
Embers
May hope for peace like flow'rs that flourish
with vibrant colours in cheerful bloom,
open hearts and open minds
in a world that's hijacked by doom and gloom.
May't foster joy, may it bring peace
to those who lay in torment,
uncover embers buried in ash
where the flame of dreams lay dormant.
May embers melt in the air's embrace
and by its power be penetrated,
may air ignite once more the flames
so worn souls are resuscitated.
