Chase The Gold

About this piece
This poem is an ode to the struggles we all go through to achieve our dreams, and a testament that though we may crack in our pursuits,we shall never break.
Chase the gold, you long limbed phantom,
You composite of half baked dreams.
Turn your gaze ever onwards,
Stretch your mortal frame to the ideal.
Chase the gold , you vain being,
You patchwork of fragile glass.
Break your heel to hit the mark,
Sweat the blood that courses your viens.
Chase the gold, you eager child
You fledgling of borrowed hope.
Bend your arm to clutch the air
Rent the breath that fills your lungs.
Chase the gold, you tired fool
You vessel of such great promise.
Let your fingers touch the gleaming prize
And rest your empty, weary self.
